Sheep Shearing

The sheep got sheared today!  They seem to be enjoying their new look - and are running around the pasture enjoying sniffing eachother.  Ironically, they also seem to be friendlier.  The older ram is a beautiful silver/black combo and the younger black sheep look magnificent in their bright black coats.  The shearer told us that he thinks we have Miniature Shetland sheep - not Miniature Icelandic.  I'm going to have to do some research to determine what's what (our vet originally thought they were miniature shetland, but then said he wasn't sure as none of the ewes are horned).  Either way - the shearer said the wool was high quality and would be excellent for spinning.  We just offered to give it away at Allegan FreeCycle (yahoo group) . . . hopefully it will be of value to someone!
